We are seeking a Social Short-Form video editor to help us build and grow an engaged online community for our Disney Branded Television titles and brands. This role will report to the Director of Social Creative. This editor role will be responsible for the ideation, development and editing of short form video content across our social handles including but not limited to Disney Channel, Disney Junior, Disney TV Animation and select show title accounts. Day to day, this means producing TikTok and YT first short form video ideas from our DBT shows and social handle needs.
A successful candidate has a digital first creative mindset - with a deep passion for creating content and building relationships on social media. This video editor will help our Disney Branded Television social handles to be more reactive and engaged in the online conversations around our brands and titles.
This editor must know how to identify and craft short form videos for various audience segments, as well as the editorial and creative judgment to identify and create video formats that drive sharing and conversation. You will need to know how to create attention worthy and conversation driving video content while working collaboratively with various internal and external stakeholders. You must have a strong voice on social media and ability to give and take creative feedback.
Responsibilities will include:
Edit, produce, create new social video formats to support our DBT social handles and title priorities
Watch episodes from DBT titles to identify key social first clip lifts and/or supercut edits for YT and TikTok
Review and work with internal and external managers, agencies, title teams to provide feedback, guidance on content ideas
Find creative and authentic ways to communicate business goals across the expansive Disney organization to consumers
Work closely cross functionally - from marketing to legal and the Disney ecosystem to identify the connective throughline between business goals and the editorial/ consumer approach
Stay on top of social media audience responses, trends, language and distill learnings internally and to stakeholders
-1-3 years of video, creative production, content creation or community management experience
-Short form video editing, strategy and production experience for paid digital video and/or organic social editorial content
-Strong creative judgment and passion for fandom
-Strong collaboration skills, with demonstrated experience aligning cross-functional teams toward common objectives
-An effective communicator, both written and verbal
-MUST have a passion and love for entertainment, television, film, pop culture and be very active on social media as a user themselves
-The ability and judgment to balance business objectives with audience needs
-Resourcefulness, attention to detail, and comfort offering solutions and clarity where there is ambiguity
-Curiosity and willingness to learn
