Candidate Requirements
• Years of Experience Required -
5 years of industry experience in User Research is required. Human Factors experience is a plus Experience in quantitative research (surveys) is required
• Degrees or certifications required -
No, industry experience is most important.
• Disqualifiers -
If the majority of experience is in PHD program or research lab, and they don't have that direct industry experience it would be a huge issue. If they are a research assistant where they execute but do not plan the research or work with stakeholders that would not work either. They need to take it end to end and own the project.
• Best vs. Average -
Mixed methods researcher, qualitative and quantitative research experience. It is OK if most is qualitative (interviews, concept evaluations) but we want someone with exp in quantitative (surveys)
• Performance Indicators -

Mix of quality and deadlines. At the least they need to deliver research, planning, and executing in a specific timeframe. But the quality must be very high.
Top 3 Hard Skills Required Years of Experience • Ability to work independently (working with stakeholders to identify research questions and findings, they are in charge of the research component of the work) They cannot rely on help from others • Qualitative vs. Quantitative skillset, some experience owning surveys end to end • Communication skills - keeping up to date with stakeholder communications.
