ROLE OVERVIEW:


• Mattel's direct to consumer business has an ambitious growth agenda and is on the journey to scaling into a global organization. Our goal is to create best-in-class digital experiences for consumers to engage, explore and purchase the best of Mattel brands.

• As a Product Manager within the Direct to Consumer and e-commerce organization, you will be responsible for the end-to end digital product and services across several customer value propositions. We are looking for a skilled and experienced customer and data focused product manager to help create the Mattel Direct-to-Consumer roadmap and support the launch and continuous development of our new global product.

• You will holistically own the product management process from strategy creation, discovery and build, to launch and optimization - leading, influencing and coordinating with global senior-level stakeholders from the business, UX, Brand Teams, Marketing, and Technology throughout the product lifecycle.

• You will develop strong working relationships across the organization and be the subject matter expert for your product(s) with relevant business, technology and supply chain, and regional owners. You are accountable ensure relevant and beneficial products are delivered to market. You are accountable to navigate across the organization to learn, answer questions, solve problems and answer business questions. Organizational leaders will look to you to share informed recommendations, improve processes, accommodate different working styles, etc.

• Your ability to communicate cross-functionally at the appropriate level of detail, set expectations, define business requirements, and organize releases will be critical to on-time and successful delivery of our goals.

• You will define the roadmap for continuous improvement of the e-commerce experience for our customers. You will translate business and customer needs into a product roadmap and backlog, and constantly optimize customer and business value.

• You will define, develop, and monitor metrics, measuring and evangelizing the performance of your products. You will make strategic decisions based on data.

• You will partner with key stakeholders to build recurring reporting and visual dashboards, and leverage analytics tools such to analyze product performance.

• You will delegate to Product Team, Digital Merchandising, Marketing, etc. to support with product releases, user testing, etc.

• You will develop recommendations to expand product capabilities and identify potential white space opportunities.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:


• Develop globally applicable consumer facing, backend, & enable digital products & services across:

o Mattel brands to create a best-in-class digital experience for consumers shopping, exploring and visiting our core Mattel Brand sites.

o Collector experiences to reach the adult fans of our Mattel brands through event based selling platform

o Create best-in-class requirements and reporting to support and inform product evolution


• Own & manage product roadmap

o Drive the vision and strategy for your product(s), ensuring teams are working towards that vision and the wider business is aware and aligned

o Be able to interpret customer / market / technology trends and to share views more widely on how they will affect the business and their product space

o Capable of leading a team with multiple cross-functional resources in the delivery of a complex product set

o As a Product expert, promote new ideas in the team, encourage and facilitate agile working practices with business stakeholder teams

o Prioritize roadmap based on business cases, level of effort, relevancy, and available resources to maximize impact and efficiency. Share business cases and level of effort analyses with key stakeholders


• Own & develop mixed product backlogs

o Build backlogs that cover all requirements across customer, business and technology

o Continuously prioritize with the team and relevant stakeholders, in consideration of business value-add, consumer value-add, level of effort, and available resources

o Ensure efficient backlog management, planning and grooming


• Manage the end-to-end product development lifecycle

o Gather requirements from relevant business stakeholders (discovery, design & definition)

o Liaise with the Digital Merchandising and Marketing teams to undertake experience mapping, journey development, user research & testing, ensuring customer needs are captured

o Partner with other Product Management team members to streamline processes and identify opportunities for efficiencies across total business

o Manage dependencies and clearly communicate risks and potential impact across multiple teams

o Report on and track progress against new feature objectives and report results to key stakeholders. Communicate decisions/recommendations to optimise or stop new features


SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE


• 8 years' work experience (6 with MBA), with at least 5 years of Product Management experience, demonstrating successful development and delivery of product strategies, roadmaps through to product launch and optimisation

• Prior experience within a customer driven retail e-commerce organization is required

• Excellent communication skills and strong experience in dealing with business stakeholders - relatability to non-technical business users and technical resources

• Experience working with software engineers, managing sprints and day-to-day product deliverables

• Understand how to balance design with function and prioritize mobile-first and performance when creating customer experiences

• Proven ability to identify, analyse, and solve complex customer problems, using data and insights to make decisions

• Experience with analysing, benchmarking and iteratively increasing conversion rates in your products.

• Excellent requirements / competitive analysis skills, pricing and financial planning

• Exceptional interpersonal skills and EQ

• Strong technical capability


EDUCATION:


• Degree-level in any discipline

• Relevant agile and product management qualifications/certifications desirable?
