The Google Workspace Product Owner provides support, leadership, product management, training, and technical expertise throughout the enterprise for Google Workspace, Gmail, Mimecast, Virtru, and various other cloud applications. 

A successful person in this position will be energetic, able to understand how end-users work and their expectations of the tools they use, enthusiastic about connecting cloud services and applications with those users, driven to deliver the best solutions possible, and a desire to communicate and share their knowledge throughout the enterprise.

 

Primary responsibilities include:


  • Manage the vision, direction, and enterprise perception of our Google Workspace platform.
  • Learn and drive new and improved product capabilities throughout the enterprise.
  • Provide leadership, training, and mentoring to all departments throughout the enterprise on Google Workspace best practices and functionality.
  • Manage the vision for the Google Workspace platform through integrations and automation.
  • Review and monitor product quality and security and implement appropriate actions.
  • Build relationships with internal departments and external vendors to ensure effective use of the applications.
  • Define and addresses team, department, and enterprise-level issues and recommend changes to increase productivity, efficiency, and security.
  • Attend formal training and annual conferences to learn about new functionality released by Google for Workspace applications.
  • Create and present training to teams, departments, and enterprise audiences.
  • Utilize industry-standard product management processes to achieve effective results.
  • Develop reporting to manage usage and prepare recommendations to increase adoption.
  • Communicate across multiple levels to ensure understanding of product and functionality.


Skills, Experience & Requirements


  • BS/BA Degree - or equivalent relevant experience preferred
  • 3+ years of experience as a cloud or email exchange administrator in fast-paced environments
  • Enthusiastic and dynamic presentation skills for training all levels of the enterprise
  • Expert-level knowledge of Gmail functionality and integrations

 

Preferred Qualifications:


  • BS Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Communications, or Management 
  • MS/MBA Degree
  • 5+ years of experience as a Google Cloud Architect or Google Cloud Administrator
  • Certification in improvement methodologies such as Six Sigma, Lean, or TQM
  • Proven communication and influence skills - ability to work broadly across various groups to gain agreement on direction, mediate and integrate opinions into a cohesive strategy, and present options/recommendations.
