Job Duties:
Propose the new design for the Positive Train Control (PTC) System to reduce the unintentional Enforcements facing by train because of PTC system and running the trains actively using PTC System. Test the systems at unit level, and also perform integration testing and End to End testing, and testing of all critical components of PTC like onboard, wayside, communication, back office and dispatch systems in lab environment and to raise defects on various applications during the execution time. Gather requirements from UPRR PTC lab team and develop necessary tools and simulators to assist during lab certification including LINN (Lab Integration Nearest Neighbor), LIEE (Lab Integration End to End) test using knowledge of railroad domain, Locomotive functionalities, Bulletins, Authorities and various applications that interact with UP-BOS. Analyze Business and Functional requirements, refine requirements, determine feasibility, correctness and completeness of requirements and help in detailing the Client requirements. Estimate the requirements using various estimation techniques viz. Work Breakdown Structure, Percentage distribution, Three Point Estimation etc. and share the final estimates in terms of hours required to perform testing. Convert the requirements into pseudo code/test case/scripts to validate the application. Prepare and maintain Requirement Traceability matrix (RTM), to ensure all requirements proposed by the client or software development team are tested in the test protocols.

Job Requirements:
Requires Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or related field. Requires 5 years of experience with Positive Train Control (PTC) System and Eggplant Tool in job offered, Software Consultant, IT Engineer, Software Engineer, or related occupation. Requires travel/relocation to various unanticipated locations in U.S.

Salary: The base pay range for this role is between $129,792 and $135K annually, and applicant’s base pay will depend on applicant’s qualifications, experience, and location.
