Solution Architect - Corporate Functions - Finance 

Our client has an immediate opening for a Corporate Functions Solution Architect experienced with back-office platforms, Citizen IT enablement and systems integration.  This person will provide technical leadership and manage the overall solution design for systems enabling corporate operations teams to optimize their use of technology to create business value and operate more efficiently.

Our client is very successful and forward thinking.  During the pandemic, they did not lay off, furlough, or cut pay for any of their employees.  They have experienced double digit sales growth for 52 of the 53 years they have been in business.



  • Candidates will work with IT leaders, functional, and technical teams throughout the design and implementation of objectives to ensure that the overall composition of their solutions meet the goals of sponsors and enterprise architecture practices.
  • Understands corporate management and support business drivers and business capabilities (current and future state) and determines corresponding enterprise system designs and change requirements to drive the organization's targeted business outcomes
  • Creates detailed design specifications to document the architecture decisions; communicates the architectural specifications to designers, developers, contractors and business sponsors in a directly actionable, clear and unambiguous manner
  • Identifies the scalability, resiliency, quality, supportability, speed of implementation and total cost of ownership of the solutions being implemented
  • Acts as a consultant on a broad range of technologies, platforms and vendor offerings while maintaining alignment with the overall Enterprise Architecture practice
  • Facilitates architecture design reviews to ensure solution designs meet functional and non-functional requirements, such as security, compliance, system scalability and reliability
  • Defines principles, guidelines, standards and solution patterns, and ensures their adoption and use
  • Collaborates with Enterprise Architects to review and assess new technologies to ensure compliance with company standards
  • Works closely with IT leaders and application owners to maintain current application and technical inventories and future roadmaps in the Corporate Functions portfolio
  • Develops an expertise in business processes and employed technologies; obtains a broad knowledge of the existing application and service landscape
  • Keeps current on Back-office platforms and Healthcare industry technology trends, including researching and implementing new and/or alternate technologies that will further business goals and provide competitive advantages
  • Partners with vendor and development teams to ensure build activities adhere to agreed service and technical architectures
  • Maintains a professional demeanor at all times; proactively manages and mitigates portfolio risk


Bachelor's degree in computer science, information-technology, systems engineering or a related study


Work Experience:

         10+ years of experience multiple IT solution development disciplines, including technical or infrastructure architecture, network management, application development, middleware, database management or cloud development

         Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate with internal team members as well as senior-level executives

         Natural leader skilled at influencing, guiding and facilitating stakeholders and peers with decision making

         Experience building secure applications suitable for commercial Healthcare operations, having familiarity with PHI, PII, and HIPAA compliance requirements

         Full lifecycle knowledge of the Corporate Functions architectural domain:

o   Corporate Finance and Risk

o   HR/Payroll and Expense Management

o   Legal & Compliance

         Technical experience with back-office platforms / ERPs supporting Cost Accounting, Revenue Accounting, SG&A Accounting, Financial Planning, Performance and Financial Reporting, FinTech, HRIS, LMS, Talent Acquisition, Expense Reporting, Digital Records and eSignature capabilities with heavy cross-functional collaboration and system integration

         Large-scale enterprise platform rationalization, modernization and transformation experience

                      An understanding of different integration methodologies including ETL, EDI, asynchronous messaging, service-based integration and file transfer patterns

         Experience implementing Web Service Integration (REST v2, SOAP), APIs, course grained and micro services

         Knowledge of Application Performance Monitoring & Management tools

         Partnership with application delivery teams, which includes DevOps, unit testing, CI/CD, security testing, performance and load testing

      •         Experience in working with multi-site global teams and Agile/SCRUM delivery


Preferred Skill Sets:

         Expertise with SAP ECC and/or S/4HANA Financials implementation and integration

         Platform Experience: Enterprise integration platforms like SAP PI/PO, Azure Integration Services or WSO2; BPM platforms like Appian or K2; RPA platforms like UiPath; workload automation like AutoSys; ETL tools like Talend; Expense Management platforms like Concur; Tax Management platforms like Vertex; HRIS and Workforce Management platforms like PeopleSoft or Workday; Learning Management Systems like ComplianceWire; Monitoring tools like ExtraHop

         Experience with Azure Cloud-based architectures and Cloud transformation initiatives

         Familiarity with UNIX, Linux, and Windows platforms

       •         Exposure to ABAP and Java development, their general DevOps life cycle and systems administration
