As a Data Engineer on the Core Data Engineering team, you will build data solutions related to the heart of our car rental system, including data processing for searches, booking transactions, and connections to a vast array of suppliers for inventory. You will be crafting and implementing data pipelines, ETLs, data warehouses, and data tools for the organization. This role is a critical team member in transforming the existing data systems into an extensible and optimized data platform.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Experience implementing relational and NoSQL database systems, using cloud-based database technologies.
Experience working with multi-terabyte data sets using relational databases (RDBMS) and SQL
Solid coding skills - Experience with Java or Python highly desirable.
Experience in collecting and processing raw data at scale including writing scripts, calling APIs, write SQL queries etc.
Experience with job execution using Qubole, Spark, EMR or similar technologies.
Experience with data warehouse using Snowflake, RedShift or similar data stores.
Experience with continuous delivery and automated deployments (Jenkins, AWS Cloud Formation, etc.)
Working knowledge of Agile Software Development mechanics.
Good problem solving and analytical skills.
Ability and desire to work in a fast-paced environment and stay motivated and flexible.
Communicate effectively with internal customers and stakeholders.
Education and Work Experience:
3+ years of experience with detailed knowledge of data warehouse technical architectures, ETL/ ELT and reporting/analytic tools.
2+ years of working experience with Java, Python, or similar programming languages.
1+ years of working experience using AWS technologies (RDS, S3, EC2, EBS...), Snowflake, Qubole
BS or MS in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent hands-on experience
